This is the poster I did for the Made You Look Graffiti Art Show at the IAO Gallery in Oklahoma City. It was a great event. Thanks to Nick who did a great job organizing the show and commissioning me to do the design. It was a good time, however I don’t think any of us expected 700 people, a line down the block, fights and art theft, but still it was a good time.

This is another microsite that I did at Ackerman for Integris Grove Hospital. I like the way this turned out, however the coders dropped a major ball by using flash for the navigation rollovers. I even copy and pasted the sliding door snippet of code but no one ever wanted to do anything new there. I guess we were all too busy to learn new techniques, or rather catch up to last year. :\

So, I get this call one day at the beginning of this year, (yes this is old news but I never blogged it), and it was a writer from Create Magazine. They had googled package design and stumbled across my stuff. They liked it and asked if they could publish my work along with a little interview. So of course I said yes and they published it in the March-April Issue of Create. I would link to the article, but there’s no PDF online to link to, sorry. Check the image though, it shows my Perky O’s packaging. WORD!

This is comp #5. of the Chesapeake Energy Website redesign. So they migrated towards the last design and made some additional tweaks. I liked the next phase which was when we mocked up the “My CHK Tour Guide”. Essentially, in our HUGE area designated to video and animations, an audience-specific tour guide would appear and guide you through the site. In this comp, you have clicked the Royalty Owners’ Tour Guide. You will also notice the nav buttons fade from light to dark blue … I have no idea why, but those were part of the heavily directed commands that came from above.

After comp #3, someone up the ranks decided to have a huge screen for video and animation with the title, “The Age of Natural Gas.” And they wanted every button to be a different color, which I like but was apprehensive about doing. Chesapeake Energy is a conglomerate with their sights set on nothing short of World Domination. However, believe in their intentions because I agree that Natural Gas Vehicles is a viable short-term solution until Solar and Wind Power, and Electric Vehicles are available. At Ackerman, I was an art director on the redesign of Chesapeake’s website. We did a ton of designs, so following this post are the other 5 comps I did and where CHK finally landed. This is a microsite that I did while working at Ackerman McQueen. It was for the Guardian Angel Program at Integris Hospitals. The whole concept of a microsite is basically a site that doesn’t contain enough content to justify a whole site, so this is the result of one of those situations. The whole site was built in Flash, I just did the design and layout. I enjoy the result. It’s clean and communicates the message fast and effectively in an aesthetically-pleasing way.

Too cool! Vans, the best frickin’ shoe company in the whole universe, runs a blog appropriately titled, “Off The Wall” and has made a post featuring me, some shoes I painted, my bike gayng (no that’s not a typo) and a sexy-ass photo of my rock hard abs (yeah you wish I linked that one, huh?). Apparently they found the Painted Vans flickr group that I started up almost 2 years ago. It’s pretty rad, going strong with over 70 members and about 100 pairs of shoes posted!
